First Soccer Game

This is quite possibly the happiest day of this kid's life!

The Lions: Beau, Chelsea, Aiden, Cooper, Jake, & Ethan

Pre-game prayer.

Is this proper goalie form?

Beau received the "black star" for being most Christ-like and cheering his teammates on.
I am one proud soccer mom! Beau also scored 2 goals! Yay...I even happen to capture one on video for ALL to see!

a 4 year old's perspective...

Our conversation this morning:

Beau: MOM, come look what I did!!!
Me: What did you do, Beau?
Beau: COME LOOK, I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF!! COME ON, MOM. COME LOOK!! HURRY!
Beau: I CLEANED UP MY PLAYROOM ALL BY MYSELF AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME TO! HURRY, COME LOOK!!!
This is what I see:

...Now just imagine what it looked like BEFORE he "cleaned it up"!!!

Yes, I'm a soccer Mom...

Last night was FINALLY Beau's first soccer practice. He has been counting down the days since last week (really, since he was 3 years old)! Kevin is one of his coaches along with his buddy Ethan's dad. They had a great time kicking the ball and doing some drills. They alse do a little Bible study and Beau has a Bible verse to work on this week. As you can see in the last picure, he is so proud of his uniform. Now the countdown to the first game begins!!!

Blogging is for bragging!

I LOVE being an aunt...almost as much as I love being a mommy! My nieces and nephew make me proud no matter what...but here are some recent things that make me want to do a little doting!
The Kunkel girls:
*Emily, Baylor freshman - lifeguard supervisor at her summer camp, in the Baylor band and may get to go to NYC for the NIT finals!

*Claire, Ranger 8th grader - runner up in the 1600 and District Champion in the 2400.

*Abby, Ranger 5th grader - member of the prestigious Texas Girls' Choir, travels weekly to Arlington for practices/performances

The Johnston kids:
*Bailey, Midway 6th grader - Team Captain of her select soccer team, travels weekly to Arlington for games/tournaments

*Audrey, Midway 5th grader - youngest player and starter on her select soccer team (same team as Bailey)

*Cal, Midway 3rd grader - scored 100% on his TAKS test, currently playing baseball

*Ava Grace, age 3 - sweet, sweet little sister, Beau's best friend

This does not even include most of their musical talents, church involvement, and school accolades!

I LOVE YOU and just wanted to brag a little bit!
