Batman Lego

This is Beau and his favorite person in the WORLD playing Wii. Beau had been wanting the game Batman Lego and we kept telling him that was something he could set a goal and save his money to buy himself. He and Kevin did some shopping and found the best price at Big Lots...$18.88. So the goal was set. Beau has a few things he has to do daily to get a commission each week (any Dave Ramsey fans out there?). Some goes in his piggy bank for spending, some goes in his bank account for saving, and some goes to church for tithing.
So we wanted him to have to work a couple of weeks in order to really earn this game so he would learn a lesson about working for things you want in life (I know, big lesson for a little one...).
Beau has always been really good at putting pennies and dimes in his piggy bank when he finds them on the ground or in the couch, etc. Daddy Dee usually gives him a dollar every now and then, he got some money for his "Signing Day" that we celebrated a few weeks ago, he's had a lemonade stand, and he's done pretty well at all his chores. Anyway, one night thinking he might be close to that $18.88, he and Kevin poured out his piggy bank to count his money (he had a lot in there before we started the whole commission thing...apparently ALOT more than we thought). And they counted and counted. Kevin finally had to get his coin sorter to count all the pennies.
That boy had $57 in his piggy bank!!!
They headed straight to Big Lots that night!
He's so proud!
